Now that trees have shed their leaves, it’s easy to think the whole world is hibernating. The truth is, life goes on for many animals in Russell Forest during the winter – and this month you can learn all about them.
Join resident Naturalist Marianne Hudson this month for several Wildlife Presentations and Guided Nature Tours – and take in the natural beauty of the season.

Learn how the small animals that call Russell Forest home navigate winter’s scarce food supply and freezing temperatures. You won’t believe the wild dramas taking place all around us! Appropriate for all ages. FREE – all are welcome!

Join Marianne for an invigorating, peaceful walk through the winter forest. Along the journey, you’ll learn which creatures are stirring and which are sleeping. You’ll also get up close and personal with the plants of the season – hollies and pines. And, you’ll learn how evergreens became Christmas décor and why all of Santa’s reindeer must be female.
