Popular Fitness Classes to Run Through September

Our popular Yoga on the Green and newly added Aqua Standup classes will run through the end of September, so there are plenty of sessions left to enjoy.

Yoga on the Green

Every Saturday morning at 7am, a group gathers for Yoga at Russell Crossroads. Whether you are a yoga master or beginner, you will fit right in! You see, Yoga is a discipline designed to improve or develop one’s inherent power in a balanced manner. It’s just that simple!

Alexander City resident, Barbara Sokol, who regularly cues or leads Yoga on the Town Green, says, “For me, Yoga on the Green provides an esthetically beautiful mind-body experience. Those among us whose participation is regular have the opportunity to meet other people from many areas who are part of the lake community, residents, and visitors.”

If you haven’t been out for Yoga on the Green, grab your water bottle and a mat, towel, or blanket and join the group near the stage on the Town Green. It’s a great way to start your weekend!

Aqua Standup

Kowaliga Marina
$15

Looking for a great workout? Join us for Aqua Standup classes at Kowaliga Marina. Cost is $15. If you don’t have a board, we’ve got you covered!

Instructor Karen Kison explains, “It’s a 50-minute class that engages the core and has elements of working upper body, lower body, cardio, and stretching.  It’s not paddling, but exercising on a stationary board. Any age group can come, and moves are easily modified. We have had people from 12 to 75 years of age participate.  You can’t beat exercising on the lake!”
