RXR Fest – Sunday Line-Up

May 27, 2018 | 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

As our Memorial Day Weekend of music continues at Russell Crossroads we step it up another notch, if that is possible, with some off the chart great music!!

First up, King Corduroy, from Nashville! Kurt McMahan first moved from Tuscaloosa to Austin in 2007. Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, Guy Clarke and many other legends have shaped his music. Mixing the Southern flavors of Soul with poignant lyrics and true stories has been his mission. From the swampy sound of Muscle Shoals, to Soulsville USA,  through the Mississippi Delta, to the heart of the Crescent City, with the Blues that tramped across the Natural State and the state of Texas, “Austin Soul Stew” is ready to be served.

Take a listen to King Corduroy

Our soulful blusey night continues with the Lamont Landers Band! Fresh from his appearance on Showtime at The Apollo Lamont Landers is an Alabama born,  redheaded, soul singing man. Lamont started playing music at 17 and added vocals at 19. In college, he met keys extraordinaire Kevin Canada and drummer Bowen Robertson and the Lamont Landers Band was formed. They play throughout the Southeastern U.S. bringing the joyous sounds of funk and soul music to audiences of all sizes. The band has a variety of influences including: Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Vulfpeck, D’Angelo, Sly & The Family Stone and many others. Congrats to the Lamont Landers Band, they WON THE NIGHT on Showtime at the Apollo on April 12, 2018!
