RXR Fest – Memorial Day Weekend

May 24 - May 25

We are excited to announce the GREAT line up of powerful musicians for the 2024 RXR Fest at Russell Crossroads!

On Friday night at 6:30pm we kick off RXR Fest!!

Harvey Street Collective will get things started for he 11th annual RXR Fest! Harvey Street, an Indie and Alternative group from Raleigh, NC came together in the summer of 2021. Harvey Street has quickly become a staple in the Raleigh, NC music scene. With a double-handful of sold-out shows and playing with the likes of The Vegabonds, The Futurebirds, The Stews, Arcy Drive, and others, they have created a sound that resonates with music goers all over the Southeast. With the release of their debut EP “Gone For A While” in January, Harvey Street is expanding further on the discography and fan base that they have been developing over the past two years.

Then at 8 Easy Honey takes over! Easy Honey was born out of the small-town innocent college days: the days of walking home under the starry night, and springing under the watchful eye of sunny graveyards, Dairy Queens, and neo-gothic cathedrals. Easy Honey’s witty melodies dotted with catchy hooks serve as anthems of nostalgia for their indie rock audience of daydreamers and nightseekers. Drawing inspiration from the originality and attitude of The Kinks, The Replacements, and Radiohead, the band’s raucous yet sentimental live show exemplifies the realness that people crave.

The band’s latest EP, Ooooo, landed itself on numerous popular playlists, including Spotify’s “Undercurrents,” “Grade A, “Surf Rock Sunshine,” as well as multiple Apple Music Playlists (Ski, New in Rock). The EP precedes more releases from the band under the direction of producer Wolfgang Zimmerman (Band of Horses, Susto). Co-frontmen Darby McGlone (vocals, guitar) and Selby Austin (vocals, guitar) share writing and singing duties, while Charlie Holt (drums, vocals) and Webster Austin (bass, vocals) provide a rhythm section which complements the personified, interwoven electric guitars. When not touring, the band lives in Charleston, SC, leading the way in the rapidly growing music scene… and surfing Folly Beach when home!

Then on Saturday the music cranks up again!

And kicking things off on Saturday night, our RXR Fest just would not be complete without The Bank Walkers! From Alexander City, these guys have been a part of RXR since the beginning! They are super entertaining and their playlist is all over the place, from the Black Crows and Allman Brothers to The Band and more! Catch the Bank Walkers when they take the Green Stage at 6:30!

And as we get set to close out RXR Fest number 11, due to popular demand the Hotel Fiction girls and band are back! It’s been a couple of years since these talented ‘Astronaut Kids’ were through here and along the way the demand for them and their music has skyrocketed.  Hotel Fiction is a band out of Athens GA! Two gals, Jade and Jess, continue to make their dreams come true one day at a time. After graduating from college they have been playing shows around the country with bands like flipturn, Adam Melchor, Beach Fossils, The Brook & The Bluff, and more!

Last summer they released their debut album “Soft Focus”, and are currently working on new music that’s coming very soon. They are very grateful to do this whole music thing saying, “we hope our music can make your bad days (and good days) even better. Come see us and follow us on Instagram and Spotify for updates! Thanks for checking us out!”
