Three Special Dinners at SpringHouse in August
Published: 08.02.2018
Sunday Night Suppers and wine dinners have been some of our most popular gatherings at SpringHouse. In August, we’re pleased to announce a Sunday Night Supper and two special wine dinners.
Sunday Night Supper
Sunday, August 12 – 6pm
Sunday Night Supper is a family-style dinner that is slightly different from a normal dinner service, with only one seating time. Doors open for cocktails and mingling at 6:00 pm with food served at 6:30 pm. We will limit these dinners to 80 guests, seated at ten 8-person tables. Our Front of House Manager and Sommelier, Daniel Goslin, will have a small selection of wines chosen exclusively for each dinner, with Scott Burlingame mixing up a tasty seasonal cocktail as well. The cost is $50++ per person (not to include alcohol), and $15++ per person for children under 12. Since family-style dinners are not like a normal dinner service, there will be no traditional dinner menu—instead, the menu will be crafted to include shareable dishes that Chef Rob has hand-selected to make for one delicious dinner.
Domaine Serene Wine Dinner
Thursday, August 16 – 6pm
Ken and Grace Evenstad founded Domaine Serene in 1989 with the purchase of 42 acres. Their very first Pinot Noir, produced in 1990 by winemaker Ken Wright, received 90 points from Robert Parker Jr. Over the next two decades, the winery continued to expand and receive vast praise for their elegant Oregon Pinot Noir. In 2004, the international wine community was shocked when, in a blind tasting of three vintages, Domaine Serene’s Grace Vineyard Pinot Noir outplaced famed French Burgundy producer Domaine de la Romanée Conti. Three years later, this wine would receive 97 points: the highest rating ever received by an Oregon wine.
Today, Domaine Serene includes nearly 150 acres of vineyards. While their primary focus continues to be perfecting the Oregon Pinot Noir, they are also producing Chardonnay and Syrah in their signature elegant style.
Executive Chef Rob McDaniel and Wine Director Daniel Goslin will be creating a four- or five-course prix fixe menu, plus hors d’oeuvres, specifically designed to pair beautifully with the masterful wines from Domaine Serene.
Featured Wines
Domaine Serene “R” Rose
Domaine Serene “Grand Cru Recolte” Chardonnay
Domaine Serene “Jerusalem Hill” Pinot Noir
Domaine Serene “Grace Vineyard” Pinot Noir
Domaine Serene Grand Cheval or Domaine Serene “Evenstad Reserve” Pinot Noir
Cost is $175++ per person. For specific menu inquiries or to make your reservations, please call us at 256.215.7080.
Kinsella and Rivers-Marie Wine Dinner
Thursday, August 30 – 6pm
From a high, sun-drenched private valley in the western foothills of Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley, Kinsella creates an exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon, hand crafted with the ultimate expertise and care by legendary winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown. Of all the spectacular Cabernets made in the past decade, his is one of the most inspiring collections. Since the inaugural vintage, Kinsella wines have consistently received stellar reviews year after year from The Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator and Vinous Media.
This dinner will also feature wines from a personal project by Thomas Rivers Brown and Genevieve Marie Welch, Rivers-Marie. Rivers-Marie creates single-varietal wines made to reflect the vineyard and vintage from which they came. We will feature the Summa Vineyard Pinot Noir and Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
