Russell Cabin Deadline Confirmed

Build out of popular Ridge cabin enclave is near

Published: 02.02.2023

After ten years and nearly 60 luxury cabins, Russell Lands is releasing the final four cabin homesites in the very popular Russell Cabins at The Ridge neighborhood. The price list and plat were released two weeks ago to allow those interested a three-week period to review the property and plans prior to making an offer on one of these properties. The deadline for initial offers is February 8, 2023.

What has made this lake home enclave so popular is the overall development, design, and construction process employed in the Russell Cabins at The Ridge. The historic Russell rental cabins are revered by long-time lake lovers due to their humble charm and peaceful, quiet settings. We are frequently asked, “who gets to live in those Russell Cabins?” We pick up the not-so-subtle touch of jealousy in that question, and our design criteria is influenced by their desire.

The land plan for the Russell Cabins at The Ridge calls for large waterfront lots with greater spacing between homes, strict tree preservation guidelines, and careful placement of the cabins and shoreline amenities. The home designs are driven by lake lifestyle with larger family space, large and well-appointed kitchens, expansive porches and multiple guest suites for three to four generations of lake visitors.

Another important distinction in the design philosophy is to create lovely lake homes without the pretentious feel of the “McMansions” that might be found in other neighborhoods. Plans, like the Captain’s Cabin pictured, have evolved over the last 10 years due to comments that we have received from our property owners.

Each of the cabins has been carefully crafted for our customers by Classic Homes, a wholly owned subsidiary of Russell Lands. Led by Chad Calhoun, Classic Homes has created a great team of craftsmen who work together to build homes that families will want to keep for generations to come.

This peaceful enclave has proven to be very popular. Since our first release in late 2012, only three cabins have changed hands. In fact, many of the “newer” property owners were referred to us by satisfied customers who would not consider parting with their Russell Cabin.

Some people think that we might have saved the best sites for last. These four sites are very large, ranging from 3.56 to 5.34 acres. Imagine the privacy of five tree-covered acres on Lake Martin! The average shoreline is 419 feet, which allows for ample waterfront activity. (Many waterfront properties on Lake Martin have only 100 feet of shoreline.)

A price list for lot and cabin packages as well as floorplans are available from one of our Sales Executives. They may be reached at 256.215.7011 or via e-mail. They will be happy to give you the information you need to see if this is the right lake home setting for you. A timely decision will allow us to get your cabin built in time for summer of 2024.
