Heritage Release Date Approaching

Phase 2 homesites will be available in July

Lake Martin’s most exciting new community, The Heritage, is about to add a second phase of waterfront homesites in July. We previously announced that price lists and plat maps for the much-anticipated second phase would be released no later than July 6.

Work has progressed, and documentation is in place that will allow us to set July 6 as a firm date to release price lists on this beautiful collection of waterfront lots. We have also decided that interested parties will have three weeks to review the property before we review offers on July 27.

It was at this same time last year that we released Phase 1 of The Heritage. That release was highly anticipated as well with 46 of the 52 released properties selling the first day. Phase 2 has fewer properties to choose from with approximately 26 waterfront homesites available for 2023.

This collection of homesites may be smaller in number, but the average lot is larger, averaging 1.46 acres of land and 290 feet of shoreline. Phase 1 properties averaged just under an acre of land with 275 feet of shoreline.

Like Phase 1, this year’s collection of properties is located on the beautiful Wicker Point peninsula. This peninsula is well known for its beautiful forest, gentle topography, and beautiful views. Many of those familiar with Lake Martin will agree that this is one of the most desirable locations on the lake.

The Heritage, with its 1,500 acres and 12 miles of shoreline, is an exciting new addition to the lake, not just because of the land but also because of the added amenities being built there. Located in the center of the community is the private Wicker Point Golf Club, home to the new Coore & Crenshaw-designed golf course scheduled to open this fall. Demand for membership in Wicker Point Golf Club has been tremendous with membership applications currently limited to property owners in The Heritage.

Adjacent to Phase 2 will be The Benjamin Lake Club which is a waterfront amenity that every property owner in The Heritage can use and enjoy. The facility will be centrally located within the community and will enjoy an elevated view of a beautiful and peaceful Lake Martin cove surrounded by Heritage residential properties. The Benjamin promises to provide a wide variety of amenities to The Heritage property owners.

The facility will consist of a two-story clubhouse with meeting and event space, an owner’s bar, catering kitchen, expansive fitness center, aerobic/yoga room, and locker rooms. Adjacent to the clubhouse and fitness center will be a resort-style pool with a large covered and uncovered pool deck, poolside snack bar, and lakeview terrace.

The Benjamin will have extensive outdoor features including a beach, waterfront event lawns, firepits, amphitheater, and community docks. On the upland portion of the clubhouse property are additional event lawns, eight tennis courts, eight pickleball courts, and a tennis pro shop.

Ownership in The Heritage is in great demand, but there are a limited number of properties that will be available.
