Guided Nature Tour
Our craving for the creepy continues in Russell Forest. We will take a walk to discover and examine the decomposers that work to transform dead matter into useable nutrients. From centipedes to fungal seeds, there are a lot of agents working to facilitate the necessary rotting in a woods. We will flip logs and shuffle leaves looking for proof of forest recycling and the living agents who break down everything from logs to animal droppings and flesh. Along the way, we will discuss the native plant and animal species that are evident.
This experience is appropriate for ages 5+. Insect repellent will be provided. Bring your own drinking water and comfortable shoes. Appropriate for participants ages 5 – 105.
