Beautiful Forecast for Saturday’s Russell Forest Run!

In just a few days, hundreds of runners and walkers from all over the South will gather near the Town Green at Russell Crossroads for the 14th annual Russell Forest Run. And the weather forecast looks beautiful!

At 7:45am, the blast of a 50-caliber machine gun will start the 10k and again at 7:55 to start the 5K. Then, those runners and walkers will take a trip through the beautiful Russell Forest! Along the way, scores of volunteers will help guide them in the right direction, have the hydration stations ready at the turnaround points, and help cheer them on as they top Heaven Hill.

The last mile or so for both runs is mostly downhill, so you can enjoy the scenery, catch your breath and get ready to join the gang in The Stables for the after party complete with our World Famous Grits Bar, hydration, fruit, live music from The Bank Walkers, and the awards ceremony!

If you haven’t registered for this year’s run, there is still plenty of time, but keep in mind—the fee increases to $50 at 11:59PM Friday, February 24.
