Announcing a New Milestone for The Heritage

The Benjamin Lake Club is nearly complete

Lake Martin’s finest waterfront amenity, The Benjamin Lake Club, has rounded the final turn and is coming down the home stretch. (Pardon the racing analogy, but this is Kentucky Derby weekend.) After years in planning and years in construction, we are excited to announce that the exclusive lake club will be completed by Memorial Day.

The Heritage, a Russell Lands development, is an amenity-rich community. With the opening of Wicker Point Golf Club, which is entirely within The Heritage, in the fall of 2023, this community is now home to a world-class private golf club. The Coore & Crenshaw-designed course was recently rated as the number one golf course in Alabama by Golf Digest.

The golf course is a hard act to follow, but we think The Benjamim Lake Club is up to the task. The Benjamin is a one-of-a-kind waterfront club that provides extensive social and recreational activities for residents of The Heritage. The multiple-function clubhouse is designed to provide a large gathering space for residents to celebrate events that are too large for their lake homes.

The clubhouse, in addition to the large community room, also features an owners’ bar, conference room, catering kitchen, pool-level fitness facilities and locker room space. All of this is situated to enjoy the beautiful lakefront environment that is common to The Heritage.

As nice as the interior of the new clubhouse is, the recreational features begin on the outside. Here’s a quick rundown. Residents can pull up to the community docks that are adjacent to the beach. Then they can take a walk up to the pool complex. (There are two pools. One of which is a four-lane lap pool). While they are at the pool, they can grab lunch at the poolside snack bar.

For the really active, there are eight clay tennis courts and eight pickleball courts (regulation of course) all adjacent to a beautiful event lawn that would be perfect for a destination wedding venue. The extensive grounds are beautifully landscaped providing a wonderful, natural environment.

The Benjamin was designed by Atlanta’s most respected architectural firm, Cooper Cary, and built by Brasfield & Gorrie. The club is a large investment for us, and we wanted the best designers and contractors that we could find. We think that The Benjamin provides a beautiful amenity package that we trust will be enjoyed by all our owners for years to come.

We have released, so far in The Heritage, almost 120 waterfront lots over the last three years, and all but four have been sold. Phase 4, which is adjacent to The Benjamin, will be released this summer. This will be the first phase that is adjacent to both Wicker Point Golf Club and The Benjamin.
