A Great Fourth of July Weekend Lineup

Published: 06.30.2020

Folks around here love the Fourth of July! For some, it’s one of the few times a year that the whole family gets together. It’s firing up the grill in the back yard, and days spent on the lake. It’s a holiday of fireworks, fun, barbecue, music, and more importantly, it’s a time to remember the birth of our nation and the liberty that makes it so exceptional. Here at Russell Lands On Lake Martin, we have a host of activities to help make your holiday weekend a special one.

RUSSELL MARINE BOAT PARADE

There are a couple of events on Lake Martin’s Kowaliga Bay that have become more than tradition—they have become a Fourth of July way of life! One of those traditions is the Russell Marine Boat Parade from Kowaliga Marina. People plan their boat designs and decorations for months leading up to the Fourth. It’s a colorful, festive, and fun way to start this day of celebration. Call Kowaliga Marina for more information and to register.

CONCERT AND FIREWORKS

The other tradition is to gather on the grassy lawn at The AMP on Lake Martin for the annual concert and fireworks. People begin the trip to The AMP in the late afternoon to claim “their” spot. They bring the kids and cooler, they bring their blankets and chairs, they clap to the music, and stand for our National Anthem. Then, for about 30 minutes, they lie back on the lawn and feel the ground tremble as they watch the sky explode with color—more color than you can imagine. As the smoke clears, guests are treated to even more music. What a day!

Make sure to join us. The Bank Walkers will start the music around 7pm, then the Vegabonds will entertain from 8pm until about 9pm. The “Star Spangled Banner” will be presented by Jessie Lynn, and The Vegabonds return to the stage at 9:30.

Tickets are now on sale online at The AMP website for $10.00, and children under 6 are free. We don’t need to remind you how crazy this year has been, and to meet ADPH social distancing mandates, there are a limited number of tickets for sale.

Family, fun, fireworks, and freedom! Come spend part of it with us!
